The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales...

Patrick Imbert, Benjamin Renner, FR/BE, 2017, 83 min.

The countryside is not always as peaceful as it seems and the animals from this farm are unpredictable: a fox who is the mother of three chicks; a rabbit who pretends to be a stork or a duck who wants to be Santa Clause. If you think that the life in the countryside is a bed of roses, think again!

The Iron Giant

Brad Bird, US, 1999, 84 min.

Something really big is on the horizon. Hogarth Hughes just saved a huge robot that fell from the sky. Although little Hogarth now has a great friend, he has an even greater problem: how to hide a 15 meter giant whose menu is limited only to iron. And everything gets even more complicated when a nosy federal agent appears on the scene, trying to find this “alien invader” and with the help of the American army also destroy him. The result is an unbelievable adventure full of iron, magic and feelings… The film will be screened after the public presentation of the animation workshop results.

Ka-Boom!

Veronika Kocourková, SK, 2018, 60 min.

Seven installments of a planned 13-part series for children, their parents and anyone who wants to learn something new in a playful way. The protagonist is an anchorwoman, Kata Strofová, who in the world of molecules and particles slowly discovers the secrets of natural phenomena and allows viewers to easily understand them. Each 8-minute episode ends with a catchy song.

The Kite

Martin Smatana, CZ/SK/PL, 2019, 13 min.

Summer is coming to an end and trees are bending under the weight of ripe fruits. A grandfather gives to his grandson a kite. When the boy gets thrown into the air the grandfather catches him. Then the leaves fall down and the grandfather gets weaker. A strong autumn wind carries him towards the cloudy sky. Winter comes and then spring and a warm breeze brings them together again. The Kite is full of magical images with a rich structure that tell a story about remembering those who are not with us anymore. The movie has been successfully traveling from one film festival to another and has received several prestigious awards (e.g. Young Audience Award at the Annecy Festival, Anča Slovak Award for best Slovak short film at the Fest Anča Festival etc.). Two creative workshops at 4 Elements for Kids will be based on this movie – Friday’s art workshop and Saturday’s animation workshop.
