Master class with Dušan Kozák

Sound Images of Indian

Is film a balanced audio-visual work? If a film is truly good, can you perceive it even with your eyes closed? What sound does my film need? In this master class, Dušan Kozák will present his way of thinking about sound as well as working with it, using samples from both radio and film works.

Dušan Kozák 

Dušan Kozák graduated in sound studies at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava, where he currently works as a pedagogue. He is also a sound engineer in Radio and Television Slovakia and often co-operates with various Slovak filmmakers. He has worked on several documentaries with such authors as Marek Šulík (The Journey of Magdalena Robinson, Cigarettes & Songs, Bells of Happiness), Adam Hanuljak (Protected Territory) or Zuzana Piussi (The Grasp of the State), actors’ films directed by Mátyás Prikler (Fine, Thanks), Jaro Vojtek (Children) as well as a film project titled Slovensko 2.0.
