The Vision of Kurt Kren

The topic of the lecture of Martin Čihák will be the unique film vision of the Austrian avantgarde filmmaker Kurt Kren whose films will be screened from the 16 mm copies.

Martin Čihák

Martin Čihák is a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague where he studied teaching, a Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague graduate of film editing and a postgraduate of the Film Studies Department at Charles University in Prague. Martin’s work home as well as abroad has yielded dozens of films (or the so-called filmclips) and ad teasers, and he also helped produce and organise numerous presentations about Czech independent cinema in several countries. Apart from filmmaking, Martin devotes himself to teaching and publishing (magazines Iluminace, Cinepur, Film a doba, Kino Ikon). In 2001 he collaborated on the production of an anthology of Austrian experimental cinema Hungry Eye.
