Communism liked numbers. Especially some of them: one party, fulfilled five-year plans, plans exceeding 100%, political anniversaries, party conventions, mass demonstrations and mass Spartakiads… We could find plenty of those in the short film production. But numbers are also happy or warning statistics, sports results and records, mathematical formulas or mysterious thirteenth chambers hiding golden treasures, bloody bones or connotations of sex education, excuse me, marriage and parenthood education. For 4 Elements, we have prepared several numerical variations from the archive of Slovak Film Institute, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and Prague’s FAMU.
