Sunrise: A Tale of Two Humans

The master piece by F. W. Murnau received as the first and the only film the Academy Award, also known as the Oscar, for Unique and Artistic Picture at the first Academy Awards in 1929. The following year, the Awards had different categories. The high-budget film tells a romantic story of a young farmer and a beautiful city woman. Because of her, the farmer decides to murder his wife and move to the city with his lover. The movie also received the first Oscars for Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Cinematography.
