The Beginning

Because of her not very attractive appearance and her eccentric behavior Pasha Stroganova plays a witch at a local club. In her private life she deals with love problems, when she receives an offer that is hard to decline – she lands her dream role in a film adaptation of Joan of Arc.

Director Gleb Panfilov received for the movie The Beginning a Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival and the lead actress Inna Churikova (known also for the role of Marfushka in the movie Jack Frost) was named the best actress of the Soviet Union by several Russian surveys.

The film will be screened together with the pre-film Silence.
