My Friend Ivan Lapshin

Memory of son and father and their common life in the communal apartment along with the other residents, including a Police Commissioner Lapshin and his journalist friend Kchaninom who investigate a criminal gang, and between whom a second-class actress Natasha oscillates, but loving the latter. A fair representation of life in the Soviet Union before Stalin's repressions offers a film that its creator Alexey German called a film about "people building socialism on the frozen and unpleasant plain."
