Stolen Gallery: Chaos

The Stolen Gallery is an experimental street art project whose initial idea was born in Český Krumlov. It allows people to encounter art right in the streets, outside the official predetermined venues. Although exhibitions in public areas bring the risk of damage or theft to the artwork, such “stealing” is an acceptable price for a free culture that we can share with other people. The Stolen Gallery has been taking place in Banská Štiavnica since 2011; you can find it in the form of a pair of showcases in front of the Art Cafe.

The current installation is a fusion of the work of two authors. Photographer Katarína Fremalová and poet Andrea Kočálková started working together in September 2021. Andrea’s resolution to create one haiku every day inspired by Katarína’s photography resulted in a joint art installation in the street art project the Stolen Gallery in Banská Štiavnica.

The informal opening will take place on Thursday at 7:00 pm; admission is free of charge.
