De/posium 2019

De/posium is an open international platform for exchanging knowledge on the current state of design, art, science and on research projects with a strong focus on material, processes, sustainability, democracy, social contexts and new economic models. The themes are not only referring to the design sector, but are also of significant interest for other disciplines. Therefore De/posium is a process-based project which constantly evolves, changes, brings new actors, cultures and perspectives in. The aim is to stimulate a debate about transdisciplinary futures, celebrating diversity and respectful co-existence. The second edition in 2019 will develop collaborations between designers and the Slovak creative (and other) community, as well as foster relationships between the participants and the local Slovak territory. The results will be shown in exhibitions in Banska Stanica, in Bratislava & Vienna during Vienna Biennale 2019.

How can we work and produce in sustainably ways in the future? What are the results when processes become more important than mass products? How can we learn from each other and across cultural borders? What is a real impact?

The second edition of De/posium will follow up on the previous research and topics of 2018 on sustainability, process-based design, participatory learning and deepen questions on „the real impact“, agencies, global and local networks. This time the discussions and group research will have a stronger focus on practise-based design research and participatory methods. Therefor 20 international designers, artists and researcher will come together in Banska Stiavnica and explore slovak culture together with the local community in an collaborative process.
