Discussion: Media in the Era of Ones and Zeros

The topic of the discussion will be mapping the evolution of the means of news communication before and after the growth of online news platforms and the spread of information through social networks. With our guests, we will talk about the changing demands of readers, the future of investigative journalism as a costly process, about the prospect of survival of good-quality journalism, about the function of media as opposition and their control function in the society, about ideological and value-oriented media, their capacity to influence the public opinion, about the fake news phenomenon and its consequences, or about the ethics of journalism.

The invitation was accepted by Martin M. Šimečka, Filip Zajíček, Kirill Ščeblykin and Jozef Šlerka. The discussion is organized by the Eleuzína Cultural Center.
