The Stolen Gallery BS: misBehAVved

Digitally designed stainless steel jewellery created by young Slovak architects and designers Matej Hoppan, Tomáš Tholt and Ján Pernecký. In Slovakia, the jewellery-making method of 3D print-
ing from stainless steel called laser sintering is completely unique. The computer-generated body accessories are a materialisation of author algorithms. Their final shape does not therefore depend on the author’s vision, but on the system’s behaviour in virtual space.

The Stolen Gallery is an experimental street art project whose initial idea emerged in Český Krumlov. The concept enables people-art interaction during outdoor exhibitions right in the streets and outside of official, predetermined gallery space. Although the character of public place show- casing brings about a risk of theft or damage to the artwork, such “stealing” is an acceptable cost for the benefit of liberal culture we can share with others. The Stolen Gallery in Banská Štiavnica has been in operation since 2011.
